Rules and Scoring Format
1. USGA Rules govern ALL plays including tie-breakers.
2. The Bayanihan Cup is a “Team Competition” event. All individuals unaffiliated with teams are welcome
to play but are only eligible to win certain prizes as indicated in Section 16 below.
3. The tournament will have three (3) divisions on Team event & will be based on total number of
participants & corresponding handicaps with the goal to “equalize” the total number of teams/players on
each division.
• Katipunan (example only, 0 – 10.0 Handicap Index)
• Samahan (example only, 10.01 – 17.0 Handicap Index)
• Damayan (example only, 17.01 – above Handicap Index)
Composition of the Divisions: Per entries submitted by May 19 deadline, valid handicap index from
each player and from each team is verified & confirmed by the Bayanihan Cup Committee. The sum of
handicap indexes of the 6 players is averaged (total divided by 6) to determine the division of which
the team competes in (as classified above). Players on each team can only have a maximum of 10
strokes differential. To illustrate, see worksheet calculation below (if you have any question, the
